10 DER ZUSAMMENHANG
Daniil Charms (1905 - 1942) was a russian avant-garde writer . Charms had a flair for combining the absurd with the miniature. He wrote tiny parables commenting on daily life in Stalins Soviet Union. His stories are typically brief vignettes often only a few paragraphs long, in which scenes of poverty and deprivation alternate with fantastic, dreamlike occurrences and acerbic comedy. His writings reflect the constant fear of arrest, hunger and hopelessness of his times and are delivered with a deadpan humor.
Doris Freigofas has illustrated his narration -Der Zusammenhang- in a 130 x 180 mm small Book. |
